What it means for the aisle
The old dating math priced men on income.
For most of modern dating history, the shortcut question was some version of "what does he do?" It was a proxy for stability, and for a long time it was a decent one.
When she's the one carrying the paycheck, that proxy stops doing any work. A second income is nice. It is not the thing her week is short on.
What's actually scarce is time, presence, and someone who runs the household well. Someone who notices the fridge is empty. Someone who can be home at 3pm. Someone whose calendar bends.
That's a real category of guy, and the current dating market prices him badly. So we gave him a label.

One category among many. Plenty of women want a co-pilot with a demanding career, and the shelf is full of those too. This is just the flavor nobody was labeling — and the one a lot of shoppers turn out to be hungry for.
For the guys
Your value was never the paycheck.
The same reporting has a rough second half: fewer men working, more men isolated, more hours disappearing into a screen. That's not a punchline to us — it's most of the reason SNAX is free for men in the first place.
